My iPod has been wiped clean.....

I left my iPod in my house and my mom is super strict and doesn't know about the things on my iPod. So when I lost it my dad and I thought that I needed to find it ASAP and delete the stuff before she found it. The only problem is I was at school, so scared to death she was going to find it (even tho she's at work all day) I went on find my iPhone on my iPhone and erased my iPod. Now I am home and I can't seem to find my iPod using find my iPhone and the app is being super weird, its telling me that my Macbook Air and iPhone are really far apart even though I have them super close together. How can I find my iPod????? I know for a fact its in the house I just don't know where!!!!! Please help me!! Thank you in advanced!!!!
