Older versions of iTunes saw and synced them just fine, then I upgraded to version 12 and now I can't reimport them. They were all formatted in mp4 format. I"m on a MacBook Pro. They won't work in iTunes on either my Mac or Windows 10 PC.
Try to open the video using QuickTime Player (right-click video file and Open With -> QuickTime Player). If that works, from the QuickTime Player menu bar, File -> Export -> iTunes, and select the video resolution. This converts video to a format iTunes can play.
