Changing the battery for a mid 2009 Macbook Pro

I recently bought a new battery for my mid 2009 macbook pro. The original battery has model A1322 with a voltage of 10.95V and a wattage of 60wH. The new one is a third party battery with model A1322 with voltage 10.95V, but the wattage is 65wH instead of 60. Is that a cause for concern? The battery was listed as being compatible with this model, and many other batteries I found that were said to be compatible were also 65wH.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hi aayuuuuuush:

The fact that the new battery is 65 wH instead of 60 wH is fine. It means it will supply slightly more power.

I have read a lot of posts on this forum about people buying 3rd party batteries for Macbook pro which are supposed to be compatible, but do not work.

The specs for your battery look fine, so give it a try.

Here are a couple of batteries that will work if yours does not.
