Q: I have 1300 duplicate songs on my imac. No dupes on my iphone5

I have about 1300 songs and somehow they are all in my iMac iTunes twice. Whole lotta work to delete 1300 tunes manually. I'm looking for a short cut. I noticed there are no dupes on my iPhone 5. Would deleting all the tunes on my iMac and then resyncing be the easiest thing to do??

I understand that you are seeing a lot of duplicates in your iTunes library and would like to clean them up. I know deleting them one by one would be both time consuming and frustrating, so I would suggest reading over the suggested steps in the following article to find and delete the duplicates.
