Photos greyed out

Hi guys, have an issue I can not fix. A large amount of my pictures in the photos app is greyed out. Done a repair, backed-up my pictures deleted the library and added the library again. Noting seems to be working, its stays greyed out.

Anyone have an idea ?

Thanks

A large amount of my pictures in the photos app is greyed out.

Could you post a screen shot? Are you seeing empty gray thumbnails in the browser? What happens, when you double-click the thumbnail? Is the correct phot revealed, or does the photo not open at all?

If enlarging a photo reveals the correct photo, try to rebuild the thumbnails. Select a few photos at once, then enter the key combination ⌘R. Wait for the thumbnails to update, then enter ⌥⌘R (option-command-R) to rotate the photos back.

Grayed out thumbnails can be caused by iCloud Photo Library. The original image may need downloading from iCloud. What are your iCloud settings?

No, if the enlarged versions are also greyed out, rotating will not work.

Can you edit the photo? Or "revert to original", if you are in edit mode?

Also try, if you can use "File > Export > Export Unmodified Original" to write the original master image file of the photo to your Desktop.

If you can export the photo, try to open it in Preview or a different editor. Are your originals o.k.?
