My Imessage is not working

I have a Macbook Pro running Yosemite Version 10.10.5. Recently my I-message (8.0) stopped working. When I look at the accounts associated with says it is inactive. I have re-entered my password and it says it is incorrect. I have already check my time zone and seem at a loss on how to correct it. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Have you force quit message, rebooted your computer and tried to log in?
