Feb 16, 2016 7:39 AM in response to remotedesktopby harry.h,Thanks for your reply. Restarting my Mac should have killed the ARDAgent process. It's possible that Apple's instructions for uninstalling ARD did not delete a corrupted ARDAgent settings file.
Since I no longer need all the bells and whistles of ARD, I have switched to using the built-in screen sharing. Choose Connect to Server in the Finder and type vnc://clientname.yourdomainhere.com.
