Macbook pro double login

I have a macbook pro 13inch running el capitan.

when i switch it on it asks me to choose a user to login as. when i do that it takes a while to boot up and includes a progress bar. once that is done it takes me to a second login screen where i need to login again.

once logged in pop ups asking for the keychain password come up.

is there a way to stop this? logging in twice is so frustrating and having to input the keychain password over and over again is irritating.
