I have been using Safari and frequently I have to force quit Adobe Flash because it locks up Safari. How do I fix this?

When surfing the internet using Safari, It frequently locks up (the ball keeps spinning). If I go to force quit I see that Adobe flash is not responding. If I force quit Adobe Flash, I can go on. Also when flash don't respond, I start using a lot of power. I want to fix this. How can I make it happen?
