Applecare

AppleCare is no longer available for iOS devices, so you only need to worry about the AC+.

Both need to be bought within 60 days of purchase of the iOS device, and are subject to a hardware test, first.

AppleCare+ extends AppleCare to also cover accidental damage.

I believe only AppleCare+ (not AppleCare) is available for iPads.
