Q: Texts to non apple devices.

I have had my macbook pro for a few months, and a couple days ago switched from the 5s to the 6s same phone number but different carriers. I'm not sure if they are related, but for the last few days I can't seem to send texts to non apple devices from my mac. I went through the help, and I couldn't find anything that addressed this.
