Ipad mini 2 technical issues (shutting down)

I recently restored my ipad mini 2 through my computer, it reset the ipad to factory settings erasing all my apps and data. I just carried on with my business as usual, but from what I can remember my ipad's screen suddenly flashed blue and shut down. the ipad automatically tries to start up, but when the apple logo appears for a few seconds the screen flashes blue again and it shuts down, going in a loop. the only way I could get it to stop was to hold the home button and the lock button at the same time for several seconds, which causes the ipad to stop trying to startup automatically. any idea of how to fix this issue? (I cannot do anything with the ipad, not even enter restore mode for as far as I can tell.)
