My MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5, 8GB, early 2011, is making a spinning like noise, whenever the lid is opened and its awake. No icon pops up. HELP!

The spinning noise could be the disk, but Im not sure. Or the fan, if there is one. But something is happening. There are no obvious faults being reported. Please help, and thanks.

There are 2 fans. Genius Bar (evaluation is free) can tell if the fans are not well. Not fatal immediately.

HD spin too. If it is making too much spinning (or worse ... clicking) noise, it could be near end-of-life. Is the HD original? Again, ask the Genius Bar to evaluate because if the HD starts to tank it could go fast and all of your content is lost. Even if you have a backup you could lose a little of the recent-past.
