why doesn't pages check from sentence fragments?

I recently upgraded to a mac from windows, and have been used to microsoft word checking my sentences. That being said is there a way for pages to check for sentence fragments or is that just how it is?

I very much doubt that the grammar checking capability in Pages v5.6.1 for Mac is upto that found within current releases of Word for Windows and Mac (2016). You may even old and new expletives with Pages v5.6.1. Those are sentence fragments aren't they?

Pages v5.6.1 can spell and grammar check your content if these are enabled in the Edit menu : Spelling and Grammar sub-menus. As Pages has not one iota of Microsoft code in it, and was not designed as a Word clone, you might be better suited to using your existing Word skills, and writing expectations with Word in Office 2016 for Mac.
