imac 25 with grey screen shows a globe with an exclamation mark within an inverted triangle underscored with Apple.com/support and -200 at bottom. Latest version of OSX. Nephew attempted to restore to factory settings. imac is now not usable. Help!!!!!

That's OS X recovery, failing. Try a PRAM reset, and start recovery again. If that fails, use another Mac and download a distro and build a bootable USB device. Though whatever your nephew was working on here — if there's a hardware problem of some sort — may well be an issue with recovery, too.

Followed your directions to the letter but now a box with a question mark pops up and iMac fails to reboot. I think maybe I will take it to the nearby Apple Store. Thank you for your help though. I am new to computers in general but found your suggestions quite easy to follow.
