Q: LED 24" Cinema Display questions

Hi,

my old Apple Cinema Display broke and I'm thinking of getting a used ("excellent condition") 24" LED Cinema Display (white case). My questions are:

1 - is it compatible with my MacPro5.1 tower computer? My computer has a DVI and 2 MiniDisplay ports, but everywhere I've read so far it says the 24" LED is made for MacBooks and other laptops.

2 - how do people like the LED display for FCP editing. It has a glossy finish. My old display has a matte finish.

As you know DVI is an standard video connection just like USB or any other connection, as long as your device (MacPro) and monitor (Cinema Display) has the same DVI ports they will work perfectly, in fact you can even connect your Cinema Display to a Windows PC since DVI is an standard.
