apple 24" cinema display compatibility

Hi,

I posted this to FCP discussion, but realized this is the correct place.

My old Apple CInema Display 23" broke down and I'm considering what to replace it with. One option is a 24" LED Apple Cinema Display. My Mac Pro5.1 (from about 2009) has 2 MiniDisplay ports and one DVI port. I'm using one of the Minis for my second (small) monitor. It seems like the 24" LED Display should work, but everywhere I read it says this CD was made to go with MacBooks and other laptops. Also, I want to be sure I don't need any extra cards or anything.
