how can i get rid of a message demanding £100 whilst browsing the web?

It's a pop-up. You'll have to clear your browsing history via Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
Since it's a pop-up you can only avoid going to the website that caused it to uh.... pop up! That or just keep deleting your history when it happens.
