As of a few days ago, the number text messages stopped appearing on the iMessage app; I receive notifications when the phone is asleep and while I'm on another app (or the home screen).
I didn't mess with any of the notification settings and have tried restarting my phone a few times. Has anyone else seen this happen? If so, how do I resolve?

Try a hard reset on it. Do you know how? If not you hold mown the power and home button until u see the apple logo then let go and let it turn on.

So, please make this clear...... Notifications appear while in apps and stuff but the number doesn't appear above the messages?
Correct the "badge app icon" or number of unread/unopened text messages does not appear at all.
It's already on. Just for good measure I turned it off and then back on again.
