Serious Electrocution Problem

I have a Macbook Pro from late 2010.

When It is charging and i touch the edges (wich are impossible not to touch), I get seriously ******* (sorry for my language, but I'm ******) electrocuted. I even have some scars. Any help? I always have it plugged in a plug extension and it happens even if It is plugged directly in a wall outlet.

Any help?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), 15-inch (late 2010)

Hi Gherkin:

I would check to see if you computer is being grounded properly.

If you are using the small adapter which attaches to you power adapter, it only has 2 pins and will not be grounded.

If you are using the cable which attaches to you power adapter, it has 3 pins and should be grounded.

Ensure that you receptacle is grounded.

Also I have read some information where someone was having a similar problem and examined his power adapter and found that where the cable from wall attaches to the power adapter, the ground terminal in the power adapter was covered with plastic. I guess it was supposed to be removed before using, but it was preventing the power adapter from being grounded. Once he removed the plastic, it was fine.

Hi Gherzan Carol:

Here is a picture showing the AC Cord and the AC Plug. Notice how the AC Cord has 3 pins, one of them being ground, and the AC Plug (duckhead) only has 2 pins. (no ground)

Also notice on the adapter the silver button or ground terminal near the top. This is the part which provides the ground. If that part were to be covered by plastic it would prevent the part from being grounded.
