The iPad that I purchased last week has an intermittent screen freeze. If you restart it, by pressing the HOME and ON/OFF buttons it will reset and work for a short period of time but then the screen freezes i.e. you can not select any of the icons on the Home Page. Do I have a faulty device?

I have the same problem with both an iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6. The iPad can go through many freeze/reboot cycles, and then is OK for several hours before the problem repeats. Sometimes after a reboot it goes straight to the home screen, bypassing the PIN/fingerprint reader.
