loud fan noise after adding hdd

I installed a second hdd in my 2008 Mac Pro and as soon as I started up there has been a constant very loud fan noise like I've never had before. Here's what I put in: WD2003FZEXWD Black 2T 7200 rpm SATA 6gb/s 64MB cache. I formatted using Disk Utility. This is my first time installing a hd and I basically screwed it into the bracket and plugged it in. Have I missed something?

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Likely the RAM. What specific RAM did you install?

Did they say it will work with a 2008 Mac Pro?

Do they have big heatsinks and a temperature sensor?

If sensor damaged or no sensor the fans will run at full speed since the Mac senses a out of range temperature.

I would install a temp and fan speed monitoring app. I use Macs Fan Control
