I dropped my iphone 6 in water and now the home button jammed?

My iphone 6 was working fine after dropping it in a sink full of water. A friend told me to put my phone in a bag of rice and then the charging cord didn't fit. I read your post, turned off the phone and dug out a piece of rice using a lighted magnifier, compressed air, a tooth pick and a safety pin. Thank you very much for your post - I never would have thought of it and it was really hard to see it even with the lighted magnifier.

Also, if you put your iphone in rice, a grain usually gets stuck in the charge port and prevents your phone from plugging in to your charger. Having said that, you dont want to charge the phone, or even keep it on if you plan to repair. You should turn it off immediately.

Do not use or follow DIY expert(s) in this forum. Doing so will void all Apple warranty and services.

Make a genius bar appointment with Apple for an evaluation and options.

His apple warranty is already voided. He asked how to fix, not how to replace.

You cannot fix an iPhone with Touch ID, stop this nonsense.

OP still have an Out Of Warranty replacement option if OP did not follow your tips.

That is just untrue, it is very possible with proper cleaning the phone will function normally. Nobody said to replace the home button. Merely cleaning can very possibly be all it needs. And anyways, what harm is error 53 to an already dead phone?

What harm? Well if nothings ever work after that and Apple will also void OOW replacement then its a total lost.

I had this happen to me once when I dropped mine in water and I noticed that my charger wouldn't go in all the way because there was a piece of rice stuck in there.. maybe that happened to you but my home button still in broken and I am researching right now because my iPod touch 5th generation will not turn on and I have heard the trick to hold down the lock and home button to turn it back on. The problem is, I cannot use my home button so I don't know how to turn it back on.. any help?
