WHen I logon to Onenote I always use my iphone 6 fingerprint scanner. Now Onenote is asking me to enter the password instead. I forget the password. Can I lookup the actual password stored when I setup fingerprint scanner for Onenote. I forget the password so I cannot get in Onenote now?

OK, so no - TouchID does not store or send a password. It only recognizes your fingerprint and uses that as the mechanism to verify your identity. That is why when you set up TouchID, you also set up a separate Lock Screen passcode. If your fingerprint is not recognized, you can then put in your passcode to open the Lock Screen, or, if you are using Touch ID to purchase apps, you can use your Apple ID password to purchase apps if your Touch ID is not recognized. These are separate entities.
Touch ID does not interact with other apps. It is used only for unlocking your phone or making purchases, so the password you set up to protect your One Note notes, is not related in any way to Touch ID.

Unfortunately, even if the OP was using TouchID with OneNote, there is no password associated with TouchID itself. The app may have also had a password backup, but TouchID knows nothing about that....

There is no place that you can find a passcode that you have forgotten. That would kind of defeat the purpose of the passcode.
What exactly are you trying to do when you are being asked for this passcode? Not sure I understand the connection between using an app and using the Touch ID?

MIcrosoft is unable to reset my Onenote password so I thought I would take a different approach. Since the fingerprint scanner had my password stored I thought there was a way to find the password that way since I forgot it.
I might be missing something here - when you say "fingerprint scanner" are you referring to the Touch ID? Because there are no passwords associated with Touch ID - just your fingerprint. Are you talking about something else? Sorry - I'm just not making the connection....

Yes I am referring to touch id. Touch id must pass the password on to the app to log me in. That must be stored somewhere on the phone and just trying to get the actual password that way
Sometimes individual apps have forgot password or reset password links...where you can reset the password that you forgot. Have you checked the app for this? or contacted the application's developer???
MIcrosoft says you cannot reset a password in Onenote. That is why I am trying the Apple route
Thanks. You are mostly right, but I wanted to point out that Apple added Touch ID support for third party apps in iOS 8. It is very possible that OneNote is using Touch ID to authenticate the notes.
