downloading pictures from iPhone 5s to computer

I'm having trouble downloading iPhone 5s photos down to my computer?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2.1

You cannot "move" Photo Stream photos. They are stored in iCloud for the express purpose of housing and sharing all photos taken by iDevices that are signed onto the same iCloud account. Photo Stream is temporary - iCloud only keeps the last 30 days or 1000 of these photos, whichever comes first.


You can use Windows Photo app to import the photos from the Camera Roll, and then after you have verified that the photos have successfully imported, they can be deleted from the phone. The only way to remove Photo Stream photos is to turn Photo Stream off on the device. If it is turned on again, whatever photos are still in iCloud based on the criteria outlined above, will redownload to the device. They are optimized, so they don't take up a lot of room.
