copy/paste some conditional highlighting rules across multiple cells which have different "data formats"

G'Day

I would like to copy/paste some conditional highlighting rules across multiple cells which have different "data formats".

In particular, highlight "red" every cell less than zero, "green" for positive cells, "yellow" for zero, where some cells are currencies, some are percentages, some just plain numbers.

Copy/paste Style takes the entire format, stuffing up the already defined "data formats" (of %, currencies (Dollars/Euros/THB).

Appreciate any assistance

HI George,

I think you accurately described what happens when you Copy and Paste format/style—every aspect of formatting applied to the source cell is pasted to the target cell. That's the way it works.

The closest you can come to the one step process you want is to set the conditional formatting rule in one cell, Copy style from that cell, then Paste style to all other cells whose style differs from the source cell only in that they are missing the conditional formatting rule. Repeat with a new source cell as many times as necessary.

Barry
