Why is the sound so low while streaming video on Apple TV? Seems to be a lot lower of sound streaming netflix, hbo go etc then watching regular tv or playing music .

Which model ATV and what cables used?
When streaming video, are you using Airplay or apps on ATV?
Are you using a reciever, soundbar, or TV speakers?
Apple tv 4 64 gb. I'm using the apps on the Apple tv. I'm using a soundbar connected with hdmi
Also it's weird I can play my music that's on the Apple tv from itunes and it seems significantly louder then the streaming content
Just to be clear, ATV hdmi to TV right? Describe the cables connecting the soundbar. Does a cable route from the TV to the soundbar? What kind?
Also which model soundbar are you using?
Also movies sound may be in Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 where music may not. Is the soundbar capable of Dolby? Maybe try changing the audio out settings on the ATV and see what happens to the audio level output.
Yes ATV to TV hdmi, soundbar I have connected via hdmi from bar to tv. Using samsung hw-j450 soundbar. I tried messing with audio settings on ATV and got no noticeable change
Your soundbar is only 2.1 capable. I suspect the movies are 5.1 or higher.

The fact your TV is rerouting the audio via ARC could be the issue.
What model TV? Maybe some settings we would try...
Also you could try to bypass ARC by plugging the ATV directly into the soundbar HDMI input while leaving the TV hooked to the soundbar HDMI output.
Tv is un55h7150 samsung. I will try the hdmi thing
No luck still the same, even the navigation sounds on the ATV are low sounding, I bypassed the soundbar and hooked up right to tv and got the same low volume that way to
Make sure on ATV settings under audio and video:
Reduce loud sounds is set off. Try and toggle on then turn back off.
Surround sound is set to Stereo.
Yep tried all, talked to Apple trouble shoot education for an hour restored and no change
Don't think it's the Apple tv, just hooked up my ps4 and it is the same. Some how it seems to just differ in volume to cable programing. Maybe it's my TV or soundbar

Cable boxes have audio settings including levels as well and maybe a lowering of the sound out of the box may normalize the level so it is the same as other inputs...
