May 12, 2016 6:13 AM in response to linda-leeby jgatz74,I received my 42mm Apple Watch for Father's Day 2015. I watched a review regarding the water resistant abilities of the watch. The reviewers showed showering with the watch, the watch submerged in a glass of water and even swimming with the watch on. The watch was left on the bottom of a swimming pool at a depth of approx. 1-2 meters and came out working with flying colors. Yes, Apple does not state that the watch is water proof, merely water resistant.
I've been showering and occasionally taking a quick dip in the pool with my Apple Watch for the last year with no problems. Until, last week, after a quick dip as usual and now..... My Apple Watch is DEAD !
My advice, do not submerge your Apple watch. It will probably take an accidental push into the pool, maybe 2 or 3 times, but, you will never know when that one time will be the last.
I Found out the hard way.

May 13, 2016 8:17 PM in response to linda-leeby julie78787,Absolutely not.
The Apple Watch has an IPX7 rating, which means it is rated to stand submersion in water, up to a depth of 1 meter, for up to 30 minutes. The IPX7 rating does not include the lower number ratings which cover water being sprayed at the device, which for swimming with a Watch would be the same as forcibly moving the Watch through the water ... while swimming.

May 15, 2016 2:25 AM in response to linda-leeby Diyreno,The watch is only designed to get slightly wet, like in a sprinkle of rain and dried off ASAP. It is not designed to go swimming in or be submerged in water at any time.
