Can I use my (2015) Macbook Pro as a secondary monitor connected to my iMac (late 2013)? Both are running El Capitan. I would be working on the iMac and using the display on the Macbook Pro like I would use a secondary monitor.
The MacBook Pro does not have the ability to act as a monitor. Use your iMac as a display with Target Display Mode - Apple Support
You could try using an app like LonelyScreen or ScreenRecycler.
