I want to turn my first of 2007 iMac into a second monitor for my 2010 iMac. I read conflicting reports on whether this will work or not and a guy at Office Max said he could sell me the cord I need and it would work. I am going to begin putting up online courses and need the space free on the 2010.
Any advice?

The 2007 iMac does not support the feature to act as a monitor. Use your iMac as a display with Target Display Mode - Apple Support
You would need to use an application as Niel mentioned.
Thanks for the quick reply and my 2007 will in fact not even work with the 2010 imac because it does meet the Target Display Mode requirements. You've saved me time but I'm disappointed. Thank you again.
