Error message when printing from Epson multi printer

I have an Epson Stylus Photo PX720WD printer connected to a 2010 iMac. It is connected via USB and was working fine until two days ago. Now it will not communicate and I get an error message. It will print a test page from the Mac. I have reinstalled the printer, run a disk verify but it hasn't solved the problem. As far as I am aware I don't have any firewalls installed. Only 3rd party software installed is CleanMyMac 3. Suggestions?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.5)
