protected storage pop up

While I was trying to pay a bill on my bank's website, a window popped up with asian characters.

"Protected Storage helps safeguard data you want to keep private.

These details show which program is attempting to access your protected data"

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Safari\Safari.exe

Description: (a bunch of weird asian looking characters)

Access Tupe: Accessing a Protected item

- Is this someone trying to hack my computer or financial files ????

If you're really running the long-discontinued Safari for Windows, you shouldn't be using it to access a banking site; in fact, you shouldn't be using it at all. It's obsolete and unsafe.

Done! I have gone ahead and deleted it from my PC.

My daughters have Macbooks, iPhones, apple everything and never have any problems, so I thought it was safer to use Apple software.

Not when it's several years out of date, and will never be updated again.
