I replaced my xfinity modem/router combo with a new Surfboard Arris 400 series modem. I use the Apple TimeCapsule with buildin router. However, I have phone service through comcast cable and can't figure out how to connect the phone? Any suggestions?
Did your old modem/router have a telephone jack on the device? If yes, that is what your new modem will need to have.
If no, then you will need to check with Comcast support for advice on how to configure the phones.
You will probably be better served contacting Comcast/Xfinity with your question. Since their modem/router combination was specifically designed to handle using the Comcast VOiP phone service, they should know if the Time Capsule would work.
You've got the wrong modem. You need an eMTA device. See the following from Comcast: http://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/list-of-approved-cable-mod ems/
