Unexpected Token Illegal: Syntax Error

This is sort of off topic but please help. I was on my Macbook Pro and I decided to do a Software Update then I went on a forum that I usually visit, but the features on the page were all messed up looking. Then I checked the eBay page and the eBay page had the same messed up format. I had the funny feeling something was wrong with the javascript so I downloaded a Javascript error notifier app from the Google Chome store. (I use Google Chrome) and when I went on the site it notified me a bunch of errors. The most prominent one: Syntax Error: Unexpected Token Illegal
