Macbook air late 2008 battery

Hi, tomorow im going to change my MBAs battery and I wanted to know once its installed if I have to leave it charging for a certain amount of time since its first charge, and once i have done that can you tell me any advice so that the time of discharge stays the same for the next couple of years.

Let the MBA charge up to 100%. You mat use the MBA while it is charging.


Keep two rules in mind:


If you keep the MBA under AC all the time, at least once per month use it with battery power to about the 40% charge level. Lithium ion batteries need 'exercise' for long battry life.


Avoid discharging the battery completely. That shortens the useful life of the battery.
