after upgrading to el capitan my cd rom does not work

My Cd Rom stopped working after upgrading to El Capitan. Please help resovle

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 9.2.1

I understand your opitical drive was working fine before you upgraded to El Capitan. Now it is not working somehow.

Thank you for your response but none of it helped. My Matshita DVD-R UJ-898 for my Mac Book Pro will not accept any cd or dvd, it's as if it just stopped working al together. This is really annoying that I cannot get a simple answer on how to fix it. I searched for drivers or latest firmware but nothing.. I really need to get it woking, I do not wish to go to an Apple store and pay for repairs. I don't believe I have to since it's from the upgrade that it stopped working.
