sync issues...message IPAD 2 cannot sync as IPAD has disconnected....I believe this may be a timeout not a disconnect as stated...but where do I start to fixx?

I am having sync issues with my IPad 2... ver 9

message stating "cannot sync with IPAD as IPAD has disconnected...

I am assuming this is a timeout not a disconnect....

But where do I start fixing?

Watching sync it doesn't get past the backup stage...

and then as I said timesout.....?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.6
