Cannot restore new iphone with icloud as IOS not compatible

I have a new iphone 6s and am trying to restore my old phone (5S), which has everything backed up in the cloud. But because old phone is IOS 9.2.1 (latest upgrade) and new phone is IOS 9.0 it says it's not compatible. help!
