I just purchased an app from the Mac Store. Why does the icon for the app not show up on my Mac? I have to return to the store and click open for it to open on my Mac.

Just drag the app from the Applications folder to the location of your choice in the Dock and drop it there.

You should be able to find it in the Applications folder or in Launchpad. They do not automatically add themselves to the dock. When the app is running and the icon is visible in the dock, you can right click on it and select "Keep in Dock" from the options menu if you want to keep it there when not running.
Why does the icon for the app just purchased not show up in my dock? How do I make that happen?
