Safari is extremely slow after downloading the latest IOS on to my MacBook Pro. Can anything be done ?
It used to be very fast.

IOS does not run on a MacBook Pro. Do you mean you upgraded to El Capitan?
When is Safari running slow? When? What sites? Force quit Safari then start it again while pressing and holding the shift key. If Safari works as expected then remove your installed Safari extensions. Restart Safari normally and add your extensions one at a time until the slowness resumes. You've now identified the extension causing the issue.
