If you have purchased an iPhone that is locked to a particular carrier, you will need to contact that carrier to see if they provide unlocking services, and if yes, do you qualify for an unlock. If yes, then follow their instructions. Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize the unlock. If you do not qualify for an unlock, then I suggest returning the phone for a refund if possible, or sell it to someone that can use it in Canada.

So do what I indicated in my post! You need to contact the carrier the device is locked to. Only they can authorize the unlock.

I'm sorry, you will have to figure that out yourself. Why would you purchase a phone locked to a carrier in Canada, if you are not located there?
