iphone 3

I ran across my old iPhone 3 and intend to use it as an iPod for music. It's charged and plays music but only repeats one tune! I cannot find the repeat icon to turn off that function and it does not respond to a shuffle command. turned it on/off with no change. I anyone remembers the function of that app please list me know!
