Scoring music to Logic, FPS matches video but still has a huge delay

Hello Logic Support,

I am working on scoring music for a short video and every time I click on a track, zoom in, zoom out, press the space bar or make an edit etc.The video keeps playing...and looping...and playing and looping...then it will freeze...then at lightspeed it remembers what I was trying to do 5min ago...(zoom in, zoom out, press space bar)....does every thing in one second, then I will have control over logic again. I get like 2 min of work, then it starts back up again. I have ran into this a few times and always thought I didnt correctly sync the video's fps with my project.

I removed the video just to see what would happen and Logic is still freezing up.

What are the exact and correct steps I should do prior to laying any music down before I work on a project that involves scoring music to a video?

Thanks I hope I made some sense....
