crash logs on macbook pro

I went on my library on my macbook pro and I found 42834 crash log/report files from the SAME day (Oct 17 2015) in different times (in 3-4 hour time period).

Can I delete these files? And why did I get thousands of crash logs from the same day? Did my macbook have a virus?
