How do I get latest version IOS for 5th generation ipod touch?

Currently have version6.1.6 ned to update to download games, how do I get a more recent version for this device?

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.6

If you have iOS 6.1.6, you have a 4th generation. That model can not be upgraded further.
