Can you run WXP Startup Repair using the original XP installation media? I assume it is a DVD.

I got it to work!! I followed the steps in the last thread. They make sense now that I was able to get into System Recovery.


  • I used the command BOOTCFG/ REBUILD
  • Load identifier: "New Windows XP" (so I would be able to remember which one was the one working)
  • Enter Operating System Load Options: /fastdetect
