current ios is 7.1.2

requesting to upgrade phone if possible to ios 8 if available?

Iphone 4 cannot be updated passed ios 7.1.2

You are going to see more and more apps that will require iOS 8 or iOS 9 to function properly. The iPhone 4 was released almost 6 years ago now and most developers will only focus their programming on the newer versions.
