Samsung evo 850 ssd help!

Hello everyone! I recently bought a Samsung EVO 850 SSD and wanted to replace my HDD. I currently have a Macbook pro mid 2012. What i did first was download el capitan onto a usb, then booted it with my new ssd inside, but that failed. My second attempt was to command r and download a fresh install of lion, but that also failed. Yes, i erased the ssd and formatted it, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), with GUILD partition. I even externally connected it, and used carbon copy cloner, but got the folder with the question mark. Can anyone help me? Thank you!! 🙂
