administrator password

I have forgotten my administrator password. I have the my installation discs but I can't use it because it says I have OS X Lion 10.7.5 My disc is OS 10.6.1. I would like to download OSX El Capitan But I need my password to do this. Can anyone help me, please? I have a mac book I bought in 2010 in europe where I live.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities

You no longer need your OS X installation DVDs to reset your password with OS X Lion. You can use OS X Recovery to do it instead, so follow the steps in this tip -> How to reset the user password in OS X Lion and newer OS X releases
