Spotlight not finding some events--any suggestions?

On the iPhone, iOS 9.2.1, searching for calendar entries. It will find Birthdays; it will find newly entered events; and tweaked old ones; but it will NOT find synched events, past, present, or future.

Search works from within Calendar itself and finds the events, so that's the solution, but why it's missing them via the OS Spotlight is a mystery.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I also discovered that when I originally synched from the MacBook Air to the iPhone that it didn't bring over some events. Even a forced synch to replace all events on the iPhone didn't do it. Tweaking a couple, then doing a forced synch again worked. Well, seems to have. This has shaken me up enough that I'm going to have to go through and *manually* check entry after entry to be sure that the iPhone matches what's on the Mac! 😝
